I hate to admit it but my friend Patrick used to take razors into the library and slice vintage car ads from 20's and 30's magazines. He made $5.00 to $10.00 apiece.
That's the issue. If I had the frames and mats etc. I would do it right now. However, this is an anthology book of children's literature, not just The Jungle Book. That is the only plate from that story, but it's so slinky and screams "Old Gay Man House" chic.
I think it needs to be color copied , enlarged transferred to wall paper and used as a mural in your entrance hall. At least that's where i'd put mine!
so what's stopping you?

DeleteIf it's in the public library, you're a public! Go ahead!

DeleteRemind me tell you about me Centaur dreams.
If you are 100% ready to conserve and frame them, then please, go right ahead.

DeleteIs a colour scanner or colour Xerox machine an option?
ReplyDeleteThat is an option and the photo above could print out nicely but, nothing is like the paper used in old books.
DeleteIf there is a book binder in the area, perhaps they could safely remove the page and stitch/glue the book back together?
