Superb! It's Superb:

The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik Yak is one of my all time favorite soft core campy cult classic drive-in movies. Tawny Kitaen stars as an American explorer looking for a mythical butterfly who, with her two companions, winds up in a demented S&M neverland run by a sadistic queen.

Watch the trailer:

This is a really bad movie, so bad it's good and the sexy Brent Huff is real easy on the eyes.

Of course the set design is amazing and the locations are exotic which makes up for the bad performances from the cast. Featuring an Amazonian type of kingdom inhabited by horny women that wear skimpy leather costumes and are strapped to chariots like horses. It's all so Cinemax soft core porn.

The campiest performances belong to the over the top evil queen played by the fabulous Bernadette Lafont and her henchman, D'Arcy who is SUPERB!

The real star of this film is the soundtrack which I recently came across and is the last collaboration between director Just Jaeckin and composer/French pop star Pierre Bachelet. Just Jaeckin also created the better-known Story of O, Emmanuelle and my personal favorite The Last Romantic Lover.

  5. I don't have a copy of that movie. It used to play on HBO years ago but has disappeared. Occasional VHS copies turn up on Ebay. I would like to see it released on DVD.

  6. I emailed the company that is re-releasing these JJ's films & they said they aren't releasing it.
I saw it on HBO way back then also.

  7. That’s disappointing news! I would so love to see that movie just one more time. The final moment where they strip to determine who will be the winner makes me smile.
