    1. Cee Lo's a big boy so I'm guessing several hundred thousand Boa's.

The Banana Splits was the first record I ever bought. To play on my portable record player that I paid for by saving Green Stamps. I still have that record.

      True story.

  3. Would somebody please explain the Banana Splits appeal (a peel...geddit?) to me?

    No, seriously.

    1. I think it has to do with LSD forcing writers to be more creative than they actually were. H.R. Puff'nstuff, and Lidsville, come to mind. Interestingly enough I've used LSD for the same reasons.

But, to explain the appeal of The Banana Splits, to me as a child, I think the whole period was laced and it trickled it's way down to children's television. All the shows had a groovy musical element, like Scooby Doo. The banana Splits had a pretty groovy sound but the show was a bad experiment of live animation. I played that record over and over and over until the Archies came along.
