Flea Market Tip:

The flea market is a wonderful place to invest your money. Lets say you buy a framed illustration;

A. It was two dollars.
B. You liked it because it looked really well done.
C. It kind of looked like you when you were a kid.

So you put it away in the attic like a stock. As it gets older it doubles in value. Fool proof investing. You think to yourself, “I bet it’s worth four dollars now.”

Then something comes along that ups the ante.

Then you check EBAY.

The ad torn out of a magazine sells for $12.99

And yours is the real thing.

Now I hear yourselves saying, “I bet it’s worth at least six dollars now.”

  2. I love looking around flea markets and curiousity shops, but I never buy for the fear it could be cursed or even haunted. See hauntedfurniture.

  4. Mitzi's link has got me afraid to sit on the sofa.

    I'm going to have to call in a paranormal investigator.

  5. That can’t be your childhood yard as I don’t see any toilet planters.

    Is this one of those Pyramid Schemes I've heard about?
    Or maybe it's called Match Game Scheme? I'm not sure.

  9. Interesting. The picture is adorable. I recently started to buy vintage celebrity ads from ebay. Nothing like Marlene Dietrich selling shampoo.

  10. Flea Markets are fun and the picture is very cute. And no doubt the original will lift in price if you hang on to it for long enough...There is a sucker born every day...

    Mitzi's link has been very valuable as it has helped to explain why there is a ghostly nudist colony camping in my vegetable garden...each carrying a towel...
